Mr I. Faris has succeeded Mr D. Munro, who for some months has been"' 'acting as statinnmaster in charge of the Nelson section of railways. At theMaitai Bowling Club's green last evening a largo assemblage of • bowlers met to bid farewell to Mr L. Pegler who is leaving Nelson for Timaru. The president; (Mr G. 0. Glover), on behalf of the members presented Mr Pegler with a gold medal, suitably inscribed, as a mark of their esteem, and in doing so expressed his regret at Mr Pegler's departure, and wished him every success in his new sphere. Allan, of Bainham. who is in the Government Life, Insurance office at Wellington, has forwarded his name to the authorities for active service.
