The Empire was again well attended last evening for . the final screening of "Her Shattered Idol." Tdniglit there will be a complete change of program mo, and the. star feature will bo a Vita^raph Broadway star dna>ma, "From Headquarters." This is a play written -\yith evident sincerity, showing the iniu.stice of the social law., which is mlways iiarder on tJie woman than on the man, and on the poor than on the rich. It is a powei-f ully constructed ; lurama, built round a simple ' plot, and affording magnificent scope for acting. The leading charncter, Rose Peters, is played by Anita Stewart, who holds and.thrills tho audience.. Rose- is a l>retty typiste who is victimised by the en.ployer she has trusted. In ruven^e sho stabs him. Her father, a detective, is given tho case, and traces the deed to his own daughter, when a message comes from headquarters to drop the case. He interviews his daughter's employer, who then makes irune-nds and marries Rose. The supporting items will include a Gaumont- Graphic, Topical Budget, and .several other films of interest.
