REGATTA AT KAITERITERI.

... Tlu>; Tasman Bay Motor Boat and Sailing.Club;were favoured with excellent^ weather for their annual regatta at Kaiteriteri on New Year's Day. There was a large gathering of people, .though not quite as large as on former occasions. The flagship was the launch Maritana, kindly lent by Messrs Rickjotts Bros. Every year the regatta I shows signs of improvement in theVnanjagement, and all that was wanted to' [ complete the day this year was an ac-| tive shore committee, to attend to shore and swimming events. The lastnamed events lapsed for want of a committee to arrange them. However, this matter will no- doubt be rectified on future occasions. The following are the results of the regatta events: — Motor launch race, 5-J- miles: Pearl (W. Reed), handicap 30eec, time 53min 20sec, 1; ypray (Wheatley), scratch, time] 35min 30sec, 2; Iris (Brunnell .Bros!), handicap omin, time 59min, 3. In this race there were seven starters. Motor launch race, 4 miles: Pearl (W. Reed), scratch, time 36min SOsec, 1; Rewa, # (Johnston), 2imin 'behind iscratch, time 33min 30sec, 2; Iris (Brunnell Bros.), handicap 5k mm, time 43min 40sec, 3. Eight starters. 18ft half-deckers race, 4 miles: Gee Whiz (J. A. Askew), scratch, time lhr 9min. 1; Dolly Varden (H.
