The following special message has been received from Mr Malcolm Ross, official New Zealand war <orpespondent:
"During the action on Christmas Day the men "of the. First Battalion New Zealand Rifle Brigade were absolutely cool and displayed great, courage under fire They stormed a donga in company with the Sikhs, land advanced within 200 yards of the enemy, fh.ally driving him off at the. point of the "bayonet. "At night, carrying, their wounded, they marched back seven miles to camp; singing. They thoroughly enioj'cd the day. ' . ''The wounded men ar© in hospital at Cairo and Alexandria, and nearly all ar<* progreseing (favourably. "The Seventh and Eighth Reinforcements are bury drilling and routemarching, and are creating a very favourable in;pr-es&ion."
