WEDDING.
BURNETT—VAUGHAN
A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the Presbyterian Church, Takaka, on Wednesday, December 29t<h, when. Ernest H., fourth son of Mr T. Burnett, cf Dovedale, and Ethel Hope, eldest daughter of Mr Vaughan, of Waitapu, were united in matrimony, t)he\ Itev. Mr1. MteFarlane officiating. The bride, vho was given away by her father, looked charming in an embroidered dress, with a. pretty veil and orange blossom, and carrying a shower bouquet. The chief bridesmaid, Miss Nita, Via.ughan, was attired in an eraEroidered -voile dress, and wore a white hat with blue trimmings and carried a bouquet of wedding belts. The younger bridesmaid, Jean> wore a white, embroidered frock with a white and blue hat, and also carried 'a bouquet of wedding bells. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr F. Burnett. After the ceremony the party adjourned to the home of the bride's parents, where the wedding breakfast was partaken of by numerous friends. The usual toasts were drunk, with musical honours, Mr Williams being at the piano. Ona' particular toast, proposed by tho bridegroom, was that of his comrades a ttho front 'and the. Allied forces: After the breakfast tho happy cotiple left for their future home by tiie Wairoa. The bride's travelling dress was a navy costume, with a small white hat. The bridegroom's presents to the bridesmaids were a wristlet watch and a gold and amethyst brooch. Tho presents received by Mr and Mrs Burnett were numerous and useful. A very enjoyable evening was spent in Mr Hunter's hall, many young -people beu;g present.
