IS OMINOUS AND MEANS MUCH
London, Jan. 3
Writing in the "Daily Mail," Mr. liovat Fraser says: "The quietness of England is ominous and means that she will be much more critical during the remainder of the war, and will not «Itently accept a second Dardanelles. The meaning of the Dardanelleß has slowly sunk into the national dind. "The over-done jubilation about the evacuation is not effacing that feeling.
"The country will accept compulsion, imt regards as peculiarly appalling the possibility of men being taken from their homes and forced to become the .victims of Ministerial bungles.
"The Dardanelles will affect the attitude of the people towards every Ministry in war time for many a future <leeade."
