Notice was given in the House of Representatives to-day to introduce six new Bills—Gambling Amendment and Auctioneers Amendment (Hon. G. W. llussell), '('Pri&onem' Deilentdon and Prisons Amendment (Hon. Dr. MeNab), and Dairy ii-dustry Amendment and Coalmines'. Amendment (Hon. W. D. S. Mac-Donald). In addition to the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Bill, tho House passt cl tho Military Manoeuvres and Census und Statistics Bill.

As to the system of making the census,, *.he potal method had boon so unsatisfactory that it was intruded to revert to tho former method of a house to house canvass.
Tho Bill was passed. The Lights on Vehicles Bill (Hon. D. .Buddo), which had secured the Governnier.t's approval, was put through all ssteges. Mr Wilfortl's Factoritvi Act Amond.n.ent Bill, enabling fcmnle workers to work 45 ii ftead of 48 hours weckh, and the State Advances Bill and the Law Practitioners Act Amendment Bill (Hon. A. L. Herd man) wen* all passed. At 13.50 p.m. the flovise adjourned I ill Monday evening.
