1 ,_ , ■ Wellington, Sept. 13. : Hie rneutcal officer on the Tahiti said .to-day that, misleading statements had 'been made concerning th o number of j hospital cases aboard the transport. I There were 80 patients under treatment iin the surgical and medical wards of tho \ hospital, in, addition to 120 men who !were treated as dut-patients. Several others were treated for minor ailments. Many men when they went aboard the Ship were:>.badl.v. run down; but under the , influence of a -/©older, climate and the sea voyage they had rapidly picked up. In the Red Sea the medical st&il had rather a. bad. time, ..but there were no deaths aboard. The most serious case was one of pneumonia, which- developed five days prior to the Tahiti's arrival at Wellington.
