HEAVY TASK FOR THE TURKS.

London, Aug. 18

Captain Perseus, writing in the "Berliner Tageblatt" on the operations in the Dardanelles, warns the Turks against supposing that they will be abandoned because of the difficulties.

He quotes the utterance of "TheTimes": "We cannot draw back," and says: "Nobody in authority dreams of drawing back."

Captain Perseus adds: "Our sense tells us plainly that it will require far more serious disappointments: and losses before the English endurance gives way." He comments on the seriousness of the situation, and the heavy task of thb Turks, and hopes they will continue to maintain, themselves victoriously on both banks of the Dardanelles.
