Desperate fighting is proceeding on all fronts in the Eastern theatre. The Germans, after* a furious bombardment and attacks m which they suffered enormous losses, captured the northern forts at Novo Georgievsk. In the "Western theatre the Allies captured an important salient in the Souohez-region. Lord Kitchener visited the front and had an important conference with M Millerand aad General Jo#re. A German submarine torpedoed and sank the White Star liner Arabic .off Fastnet. Thirtythree persona are missing. Several other vessels have also been torpedoed.
