Up to and including last week tha following quantities of meat have been purchased in New Zealand on behalf of the Imperial Government since the inception <-v tho scheme en March 4th:— Beef 13;i,369 quarters; mutton, 8/8,----583 "carcases; lamb, 1,456,187 carcases. The total purchases amount to £2,613,----121 10s.
