They include the questions of i.'Sv-isers, anus, ianc ownership, schools, hospitals, and railway concessions in Southern China] and also questions relating to Fukien. These have been the main obstacle to a settlement throughout. I Japan now offers to withdraw Grou-. jo except Die Fusion demands, reserving them in future friendly discussions. Reuter adds that a compromise was ; previously reached regarding Fukien before the deadlock developed.
