ANAESTHETIC EMERGENCY FUND.

Wellington, May 9. The Hon. Muia Onslow (son of Lord On slow, ex-Governor of New Zealand), though an invalid, is concerned in the Anaesthetic Emergency Fund, which has been set up to raise money for the purchase of drugs for iise in the many private hospitals (outside of Army or national hospitals), which have been established in Franco for tho j.reafcment of wounded soldiers of the Allied forces. The havoc played with the Canadian forces in their recent big fight illustrates the vast amount of work which has to be done daily .to give but the barest attention to the wounded. The stress has brought into existence a number of private hospitals situated in all parts of France, whore splendid work is being dove, and it is on behalf of ilmso and similar institutions that ihe Hon. Huia Onslow has written to the Hon. Dr. W. E. Collins, M.L.C., of Wellington, asking him ■to do mis best to raise money in* New Zealand for the purchase of anaesthetics for iso in these places.
