Paris, May 7. M. Rihotj in the Chamber of Deputies, stated that France's expenses for the war in April were between fifty-six and sixty millions sterling. France was giving Britain five hundred million francs in gold, for which England was
opening a credit of three times as much for goods bought in the Empire. In order to prevent an outrageous rise in the prices of war goods a single delegate would do all the buying in foreign countries on behalf of the British, Russian and French War Offices. He only asked for a vote of credit for three months, though six months was asked

for last time. He was able to state that certain things were in preparation which would have a considerable boaring on the duration of the war; but ■whatever its duration they had sworn to bring it to its logical end, and with the help of the Allies they would g€ the whole way.
