ACTION DEMANDED BY HUMANITY

(Received May 9, 3.15 p.m.) New York, May 8. The disposition among high officials is to await the "British Admiralty's re* port covering the Lusitania. One official at Washington was told positively on Friday morning that the Lusitania's destruction was fixed for that day. Mr. Roosevelt said: "The sinking of the Lusitania represents piracy on a vaster scale of murder than any old time pirate ever practised. It seems i inconceivable that we should refrain from action. We owe it both to. humanity and ~ our national selfrespect." ... !
