THE LUSITANIA.

The Lusitania was one of the finest of the famous "greyhounds" of 'he Cunard fleet trading between Liverpool and New York. Built in 1907, she wvs of 31,550 tons displacement, and her speed was 25 knots. She was fitted with quadruple propellers. The dimensions of the Lusitania -were as follows: Length 762 feet, breadth 87 feet, depth of hold 56 feet. Prior to the departure of the Lusitania from New York on the 2nd inst., a German advertising aupaign had been started throughout lha American Press, warning passengers of the risks of crossing the Atlarric mving to submarines. Many of -c passengers received anonymous warnings. The Cunard Company allowed none of the passengers to cross the gangway until their credentials were presM'^d.
