New Zealand's contribution of £27,----9 SB raised tho B^k^.n fnr>d to £179,----000. It included rho Government's April contribution, and Lord Liverpool's fund of £12,988.

The lion T. Mackenzie visited Earnsgate in connection with the gift of a cot for tho Royal Sailors' Rest from King George's Rest, LytteHon. Queen Alexandra sent a message of appreciation of Lyttelton's generosity.

Mr. Mackenzie, in a speech, said thn overseas Dominions believed under God in the invincibility of the British Empire and had unshaken faith in the invincibility of the Navy.
