SATISFACTORY PROGRESS

Sydney, May 7

Judge Murray, Governor of Papua, is visiting Sydney. He stated that he was gratified at the development of the territory. The area under cultivation last year increased by 7500 acres, and there are now 43,000 acres cultivated. The old idea that Japanese labour was required to cultivate rubber was exploded, and the Papuans had proved very apt in learning the business.
