Blenheim, May 6. There were improved weather conditions to-day for the second day of the Marlborough Racing Club's meeting and a large crowd attended. Results Scurry Hack; 4 furlongs: 2 Coropett 8.7, 1 : 1 Pall Mail, 7.8, 2; 3 Vladinoss. 8.7, 3. Also started: British Rose 8.7. Pink Ribhon 8.7, Nancyform 8.7, Wai Strain 7.7. Martial Aii* 7.7. Belgian Lass was left at the post. Coropett asserted himself in the straight, and won by a short length. Time, 51sec. . Telegraph Handicap (open); 6 furlongs: 3 Powder Fox, 7.10, 1; 2 Evadne 8.11, 2; Altcnr, 8.0, 3. Also started: Curator 8.9, Royal Dragoon 8.9. Powder Fox led all the way, and won by a length. The other horses were close together. Time, 1.16. Omaka Welter; 7 furlongs: 1 Roue, 8.11, 1; Arlington, 9.7, 2; 2 Hap Dha, 9.7, 3. Also started: Ruapara 9.10, Soporific JS.il, Rienzi 7.12. favourite secured the advantage at the- start, and maintained it to tho turn into the straight, when Hap Dha passed to -Llie ironY with Arlington handy. Roue, well ridden, recovered the lost ground, and fought out the finish, winning by a short neck. Hap Dha was a.neck behind Arlington. Time, 1.30. President's Handicap (open); 1 mile and a distance: 1 Rene, 8.11, 1; 3 Aehilledes, 8.0, 2; 2 Diavolo, 8.11. 3. Also started: Byron 9.0, Immer 8.9, Imarose 8.1, Monologue 7.7, Peroneal 7.3, Margarita 6.13. A perfect start: Margarita led off, arid remained in front all the way round. Aehilledes was well in the rear when they were turning for home, and though he made a wonderful recovery he could not head Rene, who.won by a short head. Margarita was on the rails. Time, 1.58. Riverlands Handicap; 5 furlongs: 1 Muftoe, 7.13, 1; Royal Sleeves, 8?9, 2; 6 Gold Necklace, 6.12, 3. Also started: Excitement 9.9, Powder Fox 8.12, Portland Flame 7.10, Pink Hoathor 7.9. Royal Sleeves got a flying start. Coming into the straight, Multoe challenged, and won by half a length. There was a long neck between second and third. Time, 1.2 ,2-5. Seymour Welter (open); 1 mile: 3 AchiHedee, 9.3, 1; 2 Chillies, 8.2, 2 ; 7 Waipunui, 8.2, 3. Also started: Want 8.12, Monologue 7.11, Montana 7.11, Royal Dragoon 8.7, Beacon 7.12, Mun'ji 7.7, Chillies led out from Want and Royal Dragoon. Aehilledes came in tho straight, and won eaisily by a length and a half. Time, 1.43}.-- • Final Hack; 6 furlongs: 1 Haumakaka, 8.12, 1; 2 Whisperer, 8.9, 2; 4 Elopement, 7.3, 3. Also started: Ruapara 8.0, Coropett 8.1, ■ Killaloo 7.4. The top weight hung fire at the start, but came through steadily, and, after a close finish, won by a head. There was the same distance between second and third. Time, 1. 16 2-5. During the meetings the totalisator handled £15,915, as against £15,298 last year.
