[.United Phkss Association.]
Christchurch, May 6. At a special meeting of the Christ-, ■church Export Slaughtermen's Union, thopresidont and executive were Uirned out of office by a majority of three on the voting, and a new pre-ident and executive were elected. A Member of the union informed a reporter that slaughtermen visiting tho Dominion from Australia were responsible for the change. Formerly tho annual \ meeting was held in June, by which tiwie 'the Australians had left the Dominion. The infoimant alleged that tho Australian members of the union secured an alteration in the rules whereby the meeting was held in May, when the oversea sJalightermen were present in force*- The objection they had to, the executive turned out was that they did not approve of the terms upon which they stood with the employers. The new executive applied to, the former officers after the meeting for the books of the union, especially for the bankbook, but were informed that the treasurer intended to keep the books, as he considered" their being voted out oi: office was illegal.
