Official.—The Galician and Carpathians fighting is proceeding stubbornly The Germans have brought up strong fresh forces and numerous artillery.

Enormous losses were inflicted on the enemy's massed formations by some of our units, and they fled back to the second line of defences.

The enemy captured part of our trenches at Mount Makvuka, but we dislodged them, the next day, capturing 1200 prisoners.

The enemy assumed the offensive on an extensive front in the region of Angelow, on the Upper Lomnitz.
