POSITIONS OCCUPIED BY THE BRITISH.
London, May 4. "Eye-Witness" states:-—"On the morning of the twenty-seventh our troops occupied the following positions : North of Zonnebeke ' the right of the line held the eastern end of Grafenstafel and bent south-west to a point half-a-mile west of St. Julien, curved back to the Ypres—Poelcapelle road, running from south to west of the Ypres—Langemarck road, where it joined the French.
"On the French front the Germans have been cleared from the west bank of the canal, except at Steenstraete, where they have a continual hold of the bridge-head."
