SABOS RECAPTURED

ENEMY REPULSED AT CALONNE.

ATTACK IN THE BOIS D'AILLY

GERMANS GAIN A FOOTING IN

THE FIRST LINE,

COUNTER-ATTACK PROCEEDING.

(Received May 6, 8.30 p.m.) Paris, Mciy 6. Official.— We recaptured Sabos and repulsed an attack at Calomie, inflicting heavy losses. Three regiments attacked our newly i acquired position-in the eastern part of the Bois d'Ailly, and the open ground of the ridge, and gained a footing in our first line. Our counter-attack regained half the ridge. A second counter-attack is in progress, and the result is unknown. We gained a marked success eastward of the Boi- Monmare, capturing, two successive lines of trenches. We repulsed three counter-attacks, many of the enemy being killed or made prioners. We progressed on the northern bank of tin Fecht toy ards Stembach".
