RIVAL CLUB.

The annual general meeting of the Rival Football Club wan held in Mr. Opie's rooms last ni^kt. There was a splendid muster of members, and Mr. Charles Leaper presided. The aunual report disclosed a most successful season during 1914. The Senior team were runners-up for the Senior Cup, -and the Junior t-eam won the Junior Cup. The Third Class were runnois-up for the banner, and in the seven-a-side competition the B team were victorious.

The statement of accounts disclosed a small debit, on account of several members failing to pay subscriptions, but prospects au&ir well for a much improved position in this respect in the coming season. The report . expressed the Club's hearty appreciation of the action of the following -members who had joined the Expeditionary Force : Messrs. Watson, Perry, Bennett, Harvey, A. McConchie, Kemp, Huso, C. Louisson, Sadd, Bracefield, Stone, J. Laird, J. Bennett and Westrupp. Twenty-three new members were elected.

The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Dr Andrew; president, Mr. C. Leaper; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. Mihier, C\ Williams, J. Richards, E. Opie, G. Shrimpton, H. Atn.ore, White, R. Watson, A. Lucas, T. Harford, W. Lock, J. E. H-^unsell, H. Baigent and V. Spiers; club captain, Mr. J. Grigg; secretary, Mr. A. Kitching; management committee, Messrs. T. Burke, S. King, E. Brookes, N\ Edwards", H. Brough and 11. Hargroaves; delegates to Nekon Rugby Union, Messrs Shrimi> ton, J. Grigg, E. Brookes, J. Burnip, and A. Kitching; coaches, senior and junior, Mr. J. K. John stone, third class, Mr. E. Brookes.

A hearty vote.of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting.
