Christchurch, March 18. The annual conference of the Women's Christian Temperance Union opened to-day. One hundred and four delegates were piesent. Mrs. Don (president) in nor address said the convention was the largest in the history of the movement. She paid a tribute to the pioneers of tlie Union. The conference extended \relcotne to Mies Brisson, of the British organisation. . . , . Mrs. Hislop was appointed to represent the Dominion at the Adelaide Uonvention at Easter. A resolution was passed congratulation the United States Union, on the la^e increase in the Prohibition vote during the year. The Corresponding Secretary s report showed a roll of 3W5 members. The Treasurer's report disclosed a rredit balance of £96.
