PREMIERS CONFERENCE.

TO BE HELD IN MAY

Melbourne, March 17

It is stated that when Mr Fisher was in New Zealand he approached Mr Massey regarding the Premiers' Con-

ference

Mr Massey fell in with the idea and suggested that such conferences should be held periodically in New Zealand and the Commonwealth.

Sir A. Peacock, Premier of Victoria, who approves of the proposal, says that the conferences have been rendered of much importance in view of the war and the necessity for united action in defence and other matters.

The conference will be held in Sydney early in May.
