RIFLE SHOOTING.
DEFENCE V. WAKAPUAKA.
DEFENCE OFFICE TEAM.
WAKAPUAKA RIFLE CLUB.
Teams consisting of ten men a-side from the staff of the local Defence office and the Wakapuaka Defence Rifle Club, fired a friendly match on the mudflat range last Saturday afternoon. The match was somewhat marred by the unpleasant conditions of the weather, ■ quite a gale blowing throughout the day, consequently the spotters could not be used to indicate the strike of the bullet. However, all settled \ themselves down to make the best of it, and take everything as a matter of course, with the -result that a very enjoyable and interesting match ended in a win for the staff team by a very narrow margin of four points. The following are the scores: —
