CHURCH OF CHRIST.

The anniversary services in connection with the Bible School of the Church of Christ were held on Sunday, and were so largely attended that in the evening it was difficult to find seats for all who were present. Messrs M. O. Johnston and S. J. Mathieson were the preachers. Last night the public meeting was held in the School of Music, when the orchestral gallery was filled with scholars, and every seat in the main part of the building was occupied. In fact, the parents and friends rolled up in such numbers that additional chairs had to be obtained. Mr Mathieson presided. A capital programme was provided by the scholars, comprising dialogues, recitations, a quartette, and an action song. The pieces were so well given that some had to be repeated in order to satisfy the demands of the audience. Some selected hymns were sung by the children, under the conductorship of Mr Lang, and the singing was excellent. The report of the secretary (Mr. H. E. Ames) showed that the school is in a flourishing state, there being 204 scholars with an average attendance of 148. The cradle-roll contains 70 names, and the "little ones' photograps have been- obtained. The other branches of the school show marked progress. ■ The anniversary celebration, which i was deemed to bo the most successful ever held, closed with the singing of ■ the National Anthem and the pronouncing of the Benediction by the chairman.
