The "Corriere della Bora" confirms the report that the Austrian army is entirely under the control of the Ger man General Staff. Notwithstanding the Emperor Francis Joseph's opposition General Conrad yon Hoertzendorff, Chief of the Austrian General Staff, has been practically deprived of power under the pretext thnt he is unfit owing to the- death of his son.
General yon Auffenburg has been removed from his command, nominally

on account of ill-health, but really because his move on Lublin is considered an enormous mistake.
A message from Vienna states that the Archduke Josef Ferdinand has saperscded General yon Auffenbnrg.
