Wellington, Oct. 5. The Minister for Marine states - th;;t instructions have been given for the Government steamer Hinemoa - o leave for the scene of the wreck of the ?u rimer Kairaki, near Greymouth^ with the necessary equipment for making an attempt to recover the bodies of those who were lost in her.

Mr. W. Devenish, Collector of Customs, was advised by the Secretary of Marine yesterday that the Hinemoa had cleared away the derricks from the wreck of the Kairaki. She steamed over the wreck but nothing was visible
