Mr. Ashmead Bartlett, the "Daily Telegraph's" correspondent, wrVvng from Paris, states that all indications point to German commanders and troops realising for the first time that they are in a desperate position, 'ilipir latest attacks were haphazard all along the line.

An intercepted wireless message from yon Kluck on Tuesday said that tbe forward movement of his troops had been checked, the enemy developing force of quite unexpected strength.
