Auckland, Sept. 13. A French sailor belonging to the barque Chateau cFlf fell from tho wharf on Saturday night, and was drowned. The deceased, whose name was Louis Letlock, was the man who was stabbed on board the vessel on Thursday night. Wellington, Sept. 12.

Early this morning the police received information that a Chinaman had been found murdered in his house in Adelaide, road. The door had been broken open. The man's head had been severely battered, it is. belic-Ved by a party of roughs. , Dannevirke, Sept. 12. Alex. Mcßride, a farmer at Matamau, died last evening at his home as the result of poisoning. The deceased had been depressed lately, and had been endeavouring to dispose of his interest in a farm.
