ROAD BOARDS.
STOKE
The monthly meeting of the Stoke Road Board was held an Saturday. Present: Messrs. J. E. Bartlett (chairman), A. P. Allport, and D. Gilblin. Leave of absence was granted Mr. J. Best.
The overseer reported that since last meeting the grader bad finished all ,roads in the .S.t,ol>e district, ;; where it could do any good, t except the' lane leading from Champion road. The, Quarantine road had taken a. lot of filling, but -was nearly finished. The clearing of the parings of the road in the district would take about a week to complete. The gravelling of Max's road was finished, and,the gravelling of E. Malcolm's road was.being proceeded with. Eden's and Clover,roads required patching. The report was adopted. Mr. T. Englebrecht .wrote asking that the l-bad leading to his homestead be opened to the .full width.—R,esolved that" Mr. Morris be notified of the cancellation of his lease of a portion of the road.
Mr. A. W. ( St. John, Taliuna, wrote asking that members of the Board meet a deputation of residents re condition of by-road at Enner Glynn.— Left to members of the district and overseer.
Mr. S. Bush wrote asking that repairs be done to new road near his property.—Left to the members of the district, with power to act. Accounts amounting to £61 8s 4d were passed for payment.
