RESIGNATION OF COMMITTEE

Christchurch, July 25

At a meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council to-night, the management committee announced that they had decided to retire from office, and would not seek re-election at the next annual meeting of the council. The secretary and the treasurer also announced that they were resigning. A motion was proposed that no action of the delegates in the past could be construed to be in the nature of an expression of want of confidence in the management committee, and that the committee be requested to reconsider the question of their resignation in a body. The motion, however, was ruled out of order, and the intention of the committee and officers to resign therefore stands..
