THE PORTE'S POLICY.

GREEKS TO BE EXPELLED FROM

STRATEGICAL POINTS

(Received June 14, 5.5 p.m.)

London, June 13

Reuter has received indirect advices from Constantinople stating that the Porte is determined to remove the Greek element from all strategic points in the vicinity of Constantinople and the Dardanelles and also from the Smyrna littoral.

The situation at Asvali, opposite Mitylene, is critical. Thirty thousand Greeks are surrounded by Moslem refugees, who, with Turks, attempted to enter, but were repulsed.

Reuters Alexandria correspondent reports that all Greek sailors of the 1908 class there have been ordered to join the colours.
