THE PREMIER'S ADVICE.
OPPOSITION STONEWALL
RESUMED
Melbourne, Juiie 1,2. The Federal House of Representatives adopted the supply resolutions.
The Treasurer m&de a statement indicating that the financial year would end with a surplus of £824,305.
The Opposition re.-nmed the stonewall with a view to forcing the Premier to make a further statement regarding the advice tendered to the Go-vernor-General concerning the double dissolution.
The debate was adjourned, and may not "be resumed till next week. The Senate passed the third reading of the Referenda Bill.
•A conference of Federal parties failed to reach an agreement regarding the conduct of business. -2 It is understood that arrangements have been made whereby the dissolution will be proclaimed on July 20th, and the elections will be held, if possible, on September sth.
Strenuous efforts are being made t© complete the new rolls.
