i CONFERENCE ON THE NEW ZEALAND TRADE. RATE-CUTTING IN THE FAR EAST. (Received June 11, 10.10 p.m.) London, June 11. Negotiations have been opened between the German and British companies respecting the direct service to New, Zealand. Meanwhile much friction has arisen over, the Far Eastern trade, through the active competition of the Rickmers Line, which has lowered the rates from Hamburg below those from Antwerp, where British ships load.
