At the Peace Centenary ball th.b scene represented Columbus with his two captains standing on the poop of the Santa Maria, watching a procession, of Indians; the Pilgrim Fathers, Quakers, arid French and Dutch pioneers. A second procession- symbolised the English speaking peoples of the earth, and included Australia, arranged by Lady Reid,»in which Sir Douglas Mawson and other native born celebrities participated.
