London, June 10.

Vicount Portrnan presided at the annual meeting of the Central Emigration Board.

Lord Haversham and other speakers referred to the different aspects of Imperial emigration.

Sir John Madden, Chief Justice of Victoria, said that Australia was hungering for immigrants, but they must be people who can and do hustle.

Mr. Easton, of New South Wales, outlined a scheme to raise £1,000,000 for Australian settlements, providing ready-made homesteads and farms and for educating and assisting settlers.
