THE KING OF ALBANIA.
It seems'to me more or less confidently expected that the Prince of Wied will before very long proclaim himself or get himself proclaimed King of Albania instead of remaining simply Mpret,. which is derived from Imperator, 'just as Tsar is from Caesar, but, nevertheless, does not carry with
it a sufficiently impressive dignity. In appointing the Prince of Wied ruler of Albania the European Powers designed it to be a principality and not a kingdom, but we may take it that on so small a point they would not prove exacting. The real great thing is for the Prince of Wied to arouse the enthusiasm of Albanians. This he may accomplish if, as- ho proposes to do, he can lead successully an army to suppress the insurgents in the south of the country. With a warrior's laurels the warlike Albanians would acclaim him as a beloved hero and nothing would prove impossible for him.
