HOCKEY.
SIX-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT.
At the. Botanical Reserve yesterday morning the annual six-a-side tournament held under the auspices of the Nelson Hockey Association, was held. There was a fair attendance, but the standard of play was below the average. Wai-Mai won the senior event, and Federal the junior. The results of the games are as follows:— SENIOR. '■ Federal A won by default from Stoke B. ■.-■■ Stoke A v. Federal B.
I No score was made in this match, ■ and after playing a few minutes' extra • time, Federals obtained the first hit in I tho circle, and won. [ Wai-Mai A (1) v. Nelson A (0). , Stratton scored for the winners. ! Semi-Final. ' Federal Ay. Federal B. After playing a quarter of an hour • extra time the A team won by obtaining the first hit in the circle. ■ final. Wai-Mai (2)' v. Federal A (0). Stratton scored both goals for WaiMai, who thus won the tournament. JUNIOR. Wai-Mai A (5) v. Nelson B (o).— Reed (4) and Williamson were the scorers. Nelson A (1) v. Federal B (o).—Condell scored for the winners. Federal A (1) v. Wai-Mai (o).—Millar scored for Federal. Nesbitt, for Wai-Mai, shot a goal as the_ bell was ringing for time; but it was disallowed. ■ Semi-Final. Nelson A v. Wai-Mai A.—There was no score at the call of time; and after i playing^ seven minutes extra time, Nelson "won by getting the first hit'in the circle. Final. Federal A (2) v. Nelson A (I).—Dee end Millar scored for the winners, and Hall for the losers.
