INQUEST ON WILLIAM BILLS.

Dunedin, June 1

Tiie inquest was resumed to-day in regard to the body of William Xiiills, found near the end of Victoria wharf on March 30th. The inquest had been adjourned sine die owing to the exact nature of the cause of death not being ascertainable by a post mortem examination. The police have evidence that further inquiries had been made, but no additionad information was forthcoming. The Coroner said the medical evidence had,shown that death was due to severe injuries to the head, but whether these were caused accidentally or otherwise there was nothing to show. He could only return what was practically an open verdict.
