MX SEMPLE'S RETURN. i [United Pbebs Association.] Wellington, March 18. Mr R. Semple, organiser of the Federation of Labour, returned to Wellington from Australia to-day. Mr Semple stated that he was well received, and had he wished he could have obtained £5000 instead of £1000 {ov organising the Social Democratic party. Ho was surprised at the knowledge displayed by the Australian public in the New Zealand labour movement. Broken Hill was the stronghold of unionism, and 'the Australian Miners' Association was willing, if necessary, to assist the Social Democratic Party with funds.
