LOCAL DEPUTATIONS

(From "The Colonist," March 17.)*

Doputationists of all shades of political opinion assembled at the City Council Chambers yesterday morning for the purpose of bringing under the notice of the Prime Minister various matters affecting the welfare of the city and district.

The various deputations were introduced by Mr. H. Atmore, M.P., who on behalf of the district, extended to Mr. Massey a cordial welcome, and expressed his pleasure at seeing the Prime Minister with them. Mr. Atmoro emphsised that their differences were only political, and members of Parliament outside the chamber were quite good friends, no matter what their political views were.
