Gisborns, March 16. The Supreme Coiirt opened this morning, his Honour Mr. Justice Hosking presiding. In his charge to the Grand Jury his fthonour referred'to a case of alleged attempted murder. He remarked that the prisoner had believed that he was suffering wrong from evil reports spread by the < prosecutor; and thought he was justified in applying the unwritten law. Therfi was "nothing in the country's law to warrant a person appealing to the unwritten law.
