Auckland, JVJarch 13. Between the closing Hour la«t Tiight and 7 o'clock this morning, Trenwith Bros,' boot and shoe factory, and R.yWalton and Co.'s "Lion" boot factory, in Wakefield street/ were burglariously entered. In both premises tho safes wero blown, open, and from Tronwith'« tho sum oi' £4 was stolen. When the1 employees of tlie factory arrived this morning it was found that tho front doors of both premises wero forced. Tho safes had been nearly almost completely wrecked, evidently by the use lof powerful explosives. Heaps of packing and other material showed that precautions had been taken to deaden the sound of the explosions, but the charges in each case had been made sufficiently strong to prevent any chance of failure.
