A CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE.
NO HERESY PROCEEDINGS
London, Feb. 9
Tho Archbishop of Canterbury, after hearing the Bishop of Zanzibar's charges, and the Bishop of Uganda's statement in regard to the missionary concwd in West Africa, declines to permit proceedings for heresy and schism, but as questions of far-reaching importance have been raised he proposes to submit the matter to a central consultative committee, which will rneot in July. The committee consists of certain English and Coloiial prelates, including the Archbishop of Sydney, and the Right Rev. Dr. Wallis, formerly Bishop of Wellington.
- A number of London clergy are promoting a memorial asking the bishops to'repudiate those clergy who reject the Virgin Birth, and to insist upon episcopal ordination as a condition to exercising the ministry and sacraments.
