THRILLING RESCUES

Sydney, Feb. 10

The ferry steamer Lady llawson^ whilst conveying a party of moonlight excursionists, cut down and -»ank a motor launch off Dawes' Point. Five men were precipitated into the water. Lifebuoys were thrown, and four men were resc v?d.

One drifted away, and the-re was an exciting rescue. Two young men, in spite of the risk of sharks, divested themselves of their clothing, and swam to his assistance, and succeeded in keeping the man afloat until picked up.
