RIWAKA
(From Oui' Own Correspondent.;
On Friday evening last the Riwaka. Amateur Dramatic Club staged Messrs. Harry Nicholls and W. Lestoaq's three act comedy "Jane/ before a large and appreciative audience in the Riwaka Oddfellows' Hall. The caste of characters was a strong one, comprising Messrs. E. Fry, A. Forsythe, W. Owen, A. McKee, and Master" D. Fowler, the Misses E. Rowling, M. Barnett, Freda Barnett ("Jane") and McGlashen. The. members of the club have certainly made rapid progress. In their former productions they have .always done excellent work, but in "June" they«certainly excelled all previous efforts. The audience were kept in convulsions of laughter from start to finish. It would be a difficult matter to solect the one who acted the best, for they all filled their places with great credit. " A-word, however, must be said of the excellent way in which .JVliss Freda Barnett sustained the part of ".Tuna." There is no doubt but that the club is now in a position to tackle much heavier matter. The society are fortunate in securing tho services of Mr. W. Jacques to "coach them. Mr. Jacques lias, had considerable experience in this lin,e, and is a good judge of the capabilities of the, performers. It is understood that the play is to be given in Motueka at the end v of. this week, and a large house is anticipated.
