Lord Derby, in reply to Baron de Forest, 'complains that whereas the memorandum on which the offer of the Bootlo estate was based stater] in the clearest' words that the estimated value referred to the present time, Baron de Forest advances impossible conditions, demanding besides tho land, every- sum received by Lord Derby or his predecessors from sales, fines, and mortgages during the past 200 years.
Baron de Forest, in a rejoinder, s;iy,s Lord Derby ought to have stated that his estate since the outset has m,';d-> three or four millions of profit out <»;' the increment value.
